The AIC-IIITKottayam Foundation is an Incubation Centre of the Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam under the AIM (Atal Innovation Mission) scheme, NITI AAYOG. The centre is working towards providing existing entrepreneurs with what they require to better their businesses. It aims to provide them sufficient input in terms of knowledge, guidance, training, mentoring and demonstrations. In addition to this, space and facility will be provided.
The incubation centre is hosted at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Kottayam. IIITs are generally known as institutions of national importance and IIITK is no exception.Presently the institution is managed by Prof. Dr Rajiv V. Dharaskar, Director-IIITKottayam, and Shri. M. Radhakrishnan as officiating Registrar. Dr M.P. Rajan (Dean Academics, IISER Thiruvananthapuram) is officiating as the Dean Academics. The centre will incubate customers to increase the utility of technology relating to IoT and Cloud solutions for societal benefits.
Incubation at AIC-IIITKottayam
Incubates at AIC-IIITKottayam are given the opportunity to create their prototype and implement them after a thorough market analysis is achieved from their end. The product prototype could be initially designed with a 3D printer (if required); the software prototype could be designed at the computing space available at AIC-IIITKottayam; and, the real implementation could be carried out at the hardware level.
In addition, the software services, including platform services, will be designed considering the end-to-end holistic picture of the product in the mind. Later, the models will be exhibited jointly with the sales department of AIC-IIITKottayam.
Research Objectives at AIC-IIITKottayam
One of the main focuses of AIC-IIITKottayam would be to develop societal applications using IoT cloud technologies or similar high-end technologies. AIC-IIITK’s workbench provides support to the incubates through market analysis, consultation, feasibility analysis, technical advice, business and marketing etc.

Some of the most promising of AIC-IIITK’s startups include Sygul, Auring technologies, Vugha, Black Qubes, duklr etc. All of which are unique and prospering in their own ways. Mr. HariLal S.B is the CEO of the incubation centre and Dr. Shajulin Benedict is the Director.
MoU was signed with RelianceJio (JioGenNext) early this year for promoting entrepreneurship with the startups of AIC-IIITKottayam. JioGenNext is a startup accelerator backed by Reliance Industries.

AIC’s Success through Startups
Some of AIC’s startups have been recognized by different authorities, Vajra India Softwares, Antrika Technologies and Black Cubes were selected to the semi-finals by overcoming competitions from hundreds and hundreds of companies around the globe in the annual festival of Coimbatore Vizha. Startup Istanbul is the leading startup event that brings together founders, investors and executives in the region. AIC’s startup RK Electromobile is selected to Startup Istanbul Top 100 demo day.
Auring Technologies LLP won the IOT@INDIA2020 Award in the Industrial IoT /Industri 4.0 category Best IoT company award for north India hosted by EFY magazine at the IoTshow2020 Award Bangalore
•Hospitals and medical facilities around India are reporting critical shortages of the protective equipment they need to keep their workers and patients safe. AIC-IIITK’s startup, Replicatron Research Labs Private Limited has designed a 3D Printed re-usable COVID-19 masks with disposable filter, which helps to control virus spread.
•With the current scale of the catastrophe created by the outbreak of Covid 19 across the globe, we are going through the most challenging time in the history of our country. AIC-IITK’s Startup Teentechies Pvt Ltd runs a food, grocery and other essential item delivery firm called Deliver.
