Nambi Narayanan , the 77 year old scientist, was awarded the Padma Bhushan this year for his work in the Indian Space arena. The former scientist contributed immensely to the world of Science, he played a crucial role in the development of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle and in the initial phase of making cryogenic engines. Narayanan was falsely accused of espionage in 1994 which led him to fame for the wrong reasons.With the Padma Bhushan this year, he has been given the recognition he deserved for his contributions.

Film Director, Script Writer and Producer Adoor Gopalakrishnan is considered one of the most notable filmmakers in India.
